What is Call 'n' Ride?

Call 'n' Ride Monthly Report
Call 'n' Ride Order Form

District of Columbia residents who are 60 years of age or older may be eligible to use Call 'n' Ride.  To find out if you are eligible, you will need to apply at one of the agencies on the right.

Once your application is approved, you will be issued a photo identification card, you may buy coupons on a sliding fee scale depending on your income.  The coupons must be paid for by check or money order only!   Cash is not accepted.  You may purchase up to $40.00 worth of coupons per month.

Taxicabs provide the transportation services.  Drivers will accept Call 'n' Ride coupons to cover the cost of fares for the trips that you take.  You will receive a list.  This list gives the phone number to call for service, the hours of operation and any service restriction(s).

Call the company you choose directly to arrange your trip.  Identify yourself as a Call 'n' Ride participant.  If you have an escort who must travel with you, inform the dispatcher.   When the driver arrives, show him/her your I.D. card.
You pay for your fare with your coupons.  Coupons may also be used to tip the driver.   (You may supplement your coupons with cash).

For additional information on this program or other transportation services for the elderly, call the Call 'n' Ride office at (202) 635-3970 between 8:45 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, except holidays.  Or contact us at info@wehts.org.

Once a user is certified eligible to participate in the program, he/she must pay (on a sliding fee scale for all coupons) before they are issued.

Call 'n' Ride is a component of the Washington Elderly Handicapped Transportation Services (WEHTS).
